Privacy & sensing

Room awareness, not surveillance.

Our smart-surface concept is built to read the state of a room, not the people in it. Here is exactly what that means.

Metadata-firstNo voice recordingCustomer-controlled

What a smart surface reads — and what it never does.

Room-level metadata

  • Room-level event flags

Impact, vibration, and sound-event markers — a count and a level, not a recording.

  • Ambient conditions

Temperature and humidity trends for the room around a panel.

  • Panel & device health

Whether a panel or gateway is online and operating normally.

  • Material passport identity

Batch, recipe version, install location, and calibration records for each unit.

Never collected

  • Voice or audio recordings
  • Conversation transcripts
  • Face recognition or biometric identity
  • Individual or employee productivity monitoring
  • Student behavior tracking or scoring
  • Tracking the location of named people

These boundaries hold by default. Anything beyond room-level metadata would only ever be a separately specified, contracted, and customer-approved arrangement.

Principles

The rules behind the boundary.

  • Metadata-first sensing

Where sensing exists, it works on room-level event metadata — a level or a count — never the content of speech or images.

  • Customer-controlled deployments

You decide which modules are enabled, where data is stored, and who can see it. Nothing is on by default that you have not chosen.

  • Runs in the room

A smart wall is designed to run on a local gateway without a cloud connection. Telemetry leaves the room only if you choose to send it.

  • Honest about status

Sensing features are in development and offered as deployments. We tell you what is live, what is simulated, and what is still being built.
